Eee! Guess what? I’m speaking at this year’s Maker City Summit!
The Maker City Summit is an annual weekend gathering for makers and creatives to gain practical insights and hear inspiring stories from fellow creators about how to grow their hobbies into sustainable businesses.
I’ll be part of a panel discussion with other business owners, diving into the ebbs, flows, and "oh-hellos" of social media. If you want to see me share how SpaceCraft leverages media to expand our membership, grab your pass below!

On Monday, our one-person show solus takes the SpaceCraft stage. It's what we call an experiment in vulnerability: content has been generated, elements have been designed, & music has been prepared, but even we don't know how the show will turn out. We love that SpaceCraft provides us the space to fall on soft ground and go totally out of our comfort zone. In this case, it's a lot of firsts:
1. A new-to-us show format (devised & live design)
2. Our first one-person show ever (but more coming later this year!)
3. Our first time sharing a piece so early in development for a full audience
So, sink or swim, we're glad we did it! Hope to see ya there, or at Artists' Playground sometime soon!

A couple of weeks ago, I shared my excitement about receiving a scholarship for the Waymakers Collective's annual convening. At this gathering, we exchanged stories about the disproportionate allocation of resources and the continuous siphoning of culture from Appalachia. We learned about ethical strategies for collective governance and honest storytelling, and shared many laughs with new friends from across the South. It was a joy to meet so many passionate artists, all doing the hard work of organizing their efforts for a greater cause.
Waymakers Collective is one of the few organizations in our backyard that believes in radical philanthropy—actually cutting the check to meet the basic needs of artists, so we can create the work and share the stories that need to be told.
I left the gathering with renewed energy and a deeper understanding of how to propel SpaceCraft into a more just and sustainable cooperative for Knoxville's artists. I look forward to integrating this knowledge into our work at SpaceCraft and sharing what I've learned with our community.
