SPACE65 lineup announcement, the joys of print media, and new co-writing session!

Jump to:
Hi Friend šš¾
I hope you experienced the Blood Moon last night (or technically this outrageously early morning)! Now that the sun is shining and Spring is in bloom, I find myself having more energy and curiosity to explore. A new joy Iāve discovered is walking the neighborhood while dancing to techno. While families walk their dogs and mail is delivered to peoplesā door steps, silly ole me is practicing her waacking skills down the sidewalk. I share this to encourage you to be a silly a goose this Spring and find moments to play under the sun. Times are uncertain and change is inevitableāmight as well give the universe a curveball and beat them to it!
Best,
āØ Jaleria Rivera, Founder

Figure Drawing II Classes āļø Every Saturday āļø 10A
Class only available for sign up at Knoxdraw.com
āIn Figure Drawing 2, youāll jump into the challenges of foreshortening and volume. Working with live models, you'll learn how to handle complex poses and develop a stronger sense of form through light and shadow. While we'll touch on how muscles shape the surface of the figure, our focus stays on developing your eye for depth and dimension in your drawings.
āEach session builds on what you've learned, moving from basic forms to more complex figure work. Through fun and challenging exercises, you'll gain confidence in tackling those tough poses and perspectives.
āIdeal for students who have completed Figure Drawing 1 or have equivalent experience with basic proportion and gesture drawing, and whom are comfortable studying from undraped models. This course helps you take on more challenging aspects of figure drawing while developing your personal approach.
āMaterials: Please obtain the materials, listed below, prior to the start of classes.

Cutting out the Space65 posters with SpaceCraft Fellow, Olivia Licht
šØ Bringing back print media šØ
Ah, social media. The necessary evil to many creatives. This past winter, I reflected on the social media dilemma. A part of me enjoys the process of archiving my story, yet I despise the pressure to create digital content for an algorithm (and company) that actively deprioritizes, undervalues, and harms people in my community. The cognitive dissonance was dissoning!
Iām still wrestling with how I intend to participate in the future, but today Iām finding joy in print media. SPACE65 is an experience that opened my eyes to this realization. I simply created a cutout flyer and invited my dear friend, Olivia, to a fun video sesh. And, it was so much fun!
We used the cutout as an opportunity to engage with reality and play with our surroundings. We placed the flyer in the grass, on brick walls, over a fire hydrant, and so much more! This was a simple way to make media fun and not an obligation for the sole purpose of marketing and extraction.
I wish I had the answers today on how I plan to move forward with social media, but today I invite you to watch the promo video Olivia and I created. Each post is inspired from what we shot. I hope you find unique ways to engage with print media this year because letās be realāsocial media is dead.
