🤖 Jaleria is speaking at Pecha Kucha 🤖

Guess what? I’m speaking at the 54th Pecha Kucha! I will be sharing a presentation called “DIY or Die: How SpaceCraft Is Empowering Artists to Build Their Own Economy”.

During this presentation, I will share why being an artist is more than a commodity. Artists are the foundation of all great movements, cities, and cultures; and deserve equitable access to a life that provides an environment for them to thrive.

Our program focuses on artistic growth while encouraging the use of recycled materials, creative reuse, and eco-friendly methods. If you are passionate about sustainability and creativity, we invite you to submit your workshop idea and be part of our mission to inspire and grow Knoxville’s vibrant art scene.

Figuary: Figure Study Salon 🖌️ Friday, 2/7 🖌️ 6P 🖌️ Free

First Friday comes an opening at the studio at SpaceCraft that represents years of study with tons of artists and models at Knox Draw!. We're extremely excited to present this show February 7th. The goal is to plaster the walls with hundreds of drawings and immerse the viewer in the spirit of community and practice.

Each participating artist is guaranteed to have at least one piece displayed, with the possibility of showing up to eight works as we aim to fill the gallery's 1000 square feet of wall space. These works, often kept in newsprint pads, sketchbooks, deserve to be seen. They represent the dedication, practice, and growth that happens in our studio every week.

This show celebrates not just individual pieces, but our community's commitment to artistic development - we hope you join in!

Message from SpaceCraft Fellow, Ty Murray: ​Inspired by bell hooks (my favorite author, theorist & social critic), this exhibition is an exploration of love, culture & history through clay, canvas, textile & paper. Two years have flown by since I first started working through this theme, life always had its way of bringing me back to complete this story & I’m excited to share it with you.

Dress Code: Be romantic. Wear pink and/or red.

• Relax: Leave your worries at the door and feel the harmony in the music and the space.

• Relate: Connect with the songs, with the people around you, and with the environment we’ve carefully curated together.

Join us on Valentine’s Day for EDM and vibes as we transform Spacecraft into Haus of Desire—a boiler room style nightclub, with entrancing visual light shows and immersive art experiences.

With a large part of our philosophy and mission centered around community, authentic experience, connection, and presence, we are super excited to host an event focused on these very values––bound by MUSIC, DANCE, and having a good fucking time with people, rather than tethered to our phones.

We believe that the IRL experience holds much more value than the digital. Bring your polaroids and film for an intimate presence. Move your body, laugh with friends, and feel the music move through your bones.
